Vitamin K3 Premix
Vitamin K3 is fat-soluble and participates in blood coagulation. Vitamin K3 deficiency increases subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intraventricular bleeding. Vitamin K3 is recommended in cases of coccidiosis or when taking medications such as sulfonamides, dicoumarol, and warfarin that disrupt the metabolism of this vitamin. This vitamin is also useful in repairing connective tissue. In poultry, microbial synthesis does not meet the need due to the short length of the gastrointestinal tract and the consumption of additional substances that increase the need, as well as due to modern methods of storage. Vitamin K3 in ruminants is provided by the microbial synthesis in the rumen, and its deficiency increases blood clotting time.
